Al Batt
“If you judge people, you don't have time to love them.”--Mother Teresa
Gabbing about grosbeaks
Natering about nature.
Binoculars need to fit you.
Talking about nature on the radio, naturally
Woodpeckers have a knack for hammering.
Warbling about waterfowl.
Talk of the Town with Al Batt
Talking birds
A foot of snow fell.
A red-bellied woodpecker searching for its snow shovel.
Strange snow fellows.
The weather brings a blue jay, starling, red-winged blackbird and common grackle together.
Red and white.
The cardinal is ready for a spring that isn't ready for it.
Talking about squirrrls and hawks on the airwaves.
Babbling about birds on the radio.
Gooder than grits.

BLOOMINGTON — The Albert Lea Tribune took home two awards Thursday at the annual Minnesota Better Newspaper Association banquet.
The honors, for the Better Newspaper Contest, included a prestigious first-place award for Editorial Page as a Whole for daily newspapers under 10,000 circulation.
The 2017 banquet handed out awards for work performed between September 2015 and August 2016.
The judges remarked about the Tribune’s clean look on its Editorial Page, along with commentaries and a column by Hartland resident Al Batt.
Tribune photographer Colleen Harrison took home third place amongst all daily newspapers for her video about local residents finding recovery from substance abuse addiction.
“This deep dive into personal narratives related to this difficult topic was very well done,” the judges wrote.
