Stop, you’re hurting me!

One day, while we warmed ourselves around the toaster, my grandmother told me that the cold had chilled her to the bones. I think I know what she meant.

Too cold to snow?

According to the National Snow & Ice Data Center, the always popular NSIDC, it can be too warm to snow, but not too cold to snow. Snow can occur as long as there is a source of moisture and the air is cooled. I hope you find that comforting.

A sheepherder had died.

A sheepherder had died. His body was placed in a casket and shipped by train to relatives back east. Shep watched his deceased master depart in that box. The forever faithful sheep dog of Fort Benton, Montana, maintained a vigil of greeting four trains each day, hoping for his master’s return.
