Frosty the pheasant

The -17 degree temperature that feels like -33 brings birds to the feeders that would just as soon have nothing to do with us.

One day, while we warmed ourselves around the toaster, my grandmother told me that the cold had chilled her to the bones. I think I know what she meant.

Too cold to snow?

According to the National Snow & Ice Data Center, the always popular NSIDC, it can be too warm to snow, but not too cold to snow. Snow can occur as long as there is a source of moisture and the air is cooled. I hope you find that comforting.
